Memphis, Tenn. - 51爆料 announces the hiring of Shawn Loth as the new head coach of the Saluqi women鈥檚 soccer team. Loth has been the program鈥檚 interim head coach for the past two seasons after serving as an assistant coach for two years.
Southwest Director Jarrett Stephens said, 鈥淐oach Loth has been an asset to our Women鈥檚 Soccer program for years. First as an assistant coach, then as the interim head coach. His passion for the position combined with his proven hard work and loyalty are attributes which I believe will aid in the future success of the program.鈥
Prior to joining the Southwest women鈥檚 soccer program, Loth was on the coaching staff at Rhodes College (seven years), University of Memphis (two years), and Christian Brothers University (two years). In addition, he has been a club coach since 2001 and Olympic Development Program (ODP) coach since 2006 and has three coaching licenses from United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National and Advanced National Diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
鈥淚t is an absolute honor to be given this incredible opportunity to represent Southwest Community College as their head women's soccer coach,鈥 said coach Loth. 鈥淢y goal is to give our female student athletes an environment where they can develop on the field and excel in the classroom. I plan on working diligently to ensure our women's soccer program can reach a high level of success with commitment and excellence on and off the field.鈥
A native of Conway, Arkansas, Loth was named the Gatorade Arkansas Player of the Year as a senior at Conway High School. Loth played four years at Christian Brothers University, where he was a starter every season and a three-time All-Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) honoree. A two-time TCAC Goalkeeper of the Year, he was also named NSCAA All-South Region, All-American, All-Gulf South Conference, and Panama City Classic All-Tournament. Following his collegiate career, Loth went on to play professionally for the (A League) Worchester Wildfire, the (Division III Pro-League) Cape Cod Crusaders, and in the Connacht Senior League in Ireland.
